Find events of interest to front line caregivers of persons with dementia.

PSW Training 2010
Generously funded by the Andreae family

Using a person centred approach to care; the goal of this comprehensive program is to enhance the knowledge and understanding of dementia of front line workers, enabling them to provide quality care for persons with dementia. All of these sessions are offered at The Alzheimer Society offices. All sessions run from 5 to 8 p.m.

The program is divided into 3 parts:

  • Part 1 - Overview of Alzheimer’s Disease, Communication Skills
    • July 6 - 5-8pm
    • September 21 - 5-8pm

  • Part 2 - Responsive (challenging) Behaviours
    • July 13 - 5-8pm
    • August 10 - 5-8pm
    • September 28 - 5-8pm

  • Part 3 - Walk a Mile in My Shoes & Aging Simulation, Partners in Care
    • August 17, - 5-8pm
    • October 5, - 5-8pm

This training is offered free of charge, and sessions must be taken in sequence.

Certificates of participation are issued upon completion of all three sessions.
